Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2025

Wordrop respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

How We Use Information

Cookies & Local Storage

Wordrop uses browser local storage (and may use cookies) to remember settings and progress. You can clear this any time in your browser settings. Clearing it will reset streaks and progress saved on your device.

Sharing & Clipboard

If you use “Share Results” or the lifeline feature, we use your device’s share sheet (Web Share API) or copy text to your clipboard. The destination app or service you choose will handle that content under its own privacy policy. We do not receive that shared content.

Third-Party Services

Firebase (Cloud Firestore) — Google: used only for anonymous, aggregate gameplay analytics (plays, wins, per-round completions and total misses). We do not send names, email addresses, or precise locations. Google may process standard device/network logs to deliver the service.

No ads and no behavioral tracking. We do not run third-party advertising SDKs.

Data Retention

Your Choices & Rights

Children’s Privacy

General audience: Wordrop is a family-friendly word game and kids can play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a child contacts us (for example, via the bug-report email), a parent or guardian can email playwordrop@gmail.com and we will delete the message.

If we ever add features that collect contact info or create accounts, we will add an age check and, where required, obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated date.
